Anyone have any tips for getting to sleep early in recovery?

Meditation and relaxation apps are helpful. Avoid caffeine after 2pm, and a nice chamomile tea is helpful toward evening. Get up early, and you’ll get tired early. Set a routine and stick with it.

Routine is huge for me. I also take melatonin and magnesium citrate before bed. Going to bed and waking up at the same time teaches your body.

Melatonin works for me!

Benadryl.

That’s a tough one, I didn’t want to take anything to help at first and the results were bad, didn’t really ‘sleep’ for months. Finally decided I need something, took it for 6 months or so and weened off. But I hear you, sleep deprivation was driving me insane

Thanks I’ve been struggling for months and notice the times I’ve slipped my whole week was off prior. With sleep work routine.

At first I was using melatonin and CBD. It helped for a bit but I didn’t want to depend on meds so I tried acupuncture and that set me on the path on getting into a routine. Idk if it helps anyone else but treat your bed like a sanctuary. I mean do what you got to on it lol but keeping it clean and made. Seriously it helps, it’s all about the ambiance.

My dr prescribed trazodone. It worked. I took it for 3 months and then tapered off

Magnesium Calm, meditation.

I would recommend maybe a app with different calming sounds. Such as rain, or some kind of nature sound. Something that’s going to calm you and put your mind at ease. I would also maybe recommend reading.

Early in recovery I was prescribed Trazodone. Didn’t like the way it made me feel in the am, but it was a lot better than a hangover. Also, a night time routine ( to do list for next day, journal, nighty night tea while calm tv show or book, then YouTube manifestations while you sleep, or rain…..)

Thank you for all the input hopefully it gets easier in due time.

I’d recommend talking to your doctor. I was prescribed Trazadone and it helped me sleep. But, I was extremely groggy the next day.
