Are their any other programs?

What are the 12 steps in simplest form?

Has anyone gone thru successfully any other not circling around prayer or god programs.

The 12 step program may have worked for some but its outdated ppl have come to realizations.

I dont even know anyone that goes to church.

Im a karma spiritual constellation horoscope follow the stars gypsy soul. Mother nature zen seeker. Adventourous type empath.

I dont answer to God I am a non believer of one god but rather many gods.

So where does one go that isnt jamming prayer down their throat or press the 12 step program.

Theirs got to be better options out there.

Good morning Jennifer. Excellent and valid questions for sure. It seems ( forgive me if I'm wrong ) you are looking more for a support system that does not "tell" you what to "do" or "believe" but rather supports your already existing beliefs you have developed from your own individual experiences. Simply put "lone wolf" vs "sheep" or "herd" type mentality. I certainly understand this. I am aware it can be hard to say if anyone truly understands or can relate just from a few words typed out on a reply to a post  But if you feel I may understand and can be of any help feel free to reach out.

Check out secular AA. They may not have many in person meetings in your area, but there are plenty of zoom meetings. I go to AA. I make it work for me, but it’s a struggle sometimes because of exactly what you said. It takes a lot to remind myself I get to choose how I wish to believe.

I am eclectic Pagan, and 12 step member.... I shied away from the one-god thing too. I started with G.O.D. Group Of Drunks as a higher power, those people did what I could not do... My own conception of diety is constantly changing. I do pray consistently, not as a cowering act of submission, but as a call for strength from my higher self to become closer with that spirit.

At its core, AA is based on spiritual principles, not deity. Look deeper, beyond the god concept, you may find the same to be true. :man_shrugging:

Yes! I came here to social media asking the same question! There’s an app called Everything AA, you will see the ‘god’ language on their website. However, I use the meeting finder button to locate Secular Meetings. The readings are philosophical in nature rather than religious. The groups I have found are not preaching god stuff at all. Plenty of folks out there getting sober without conforming to a particular belief system. Let me know how it goes for you.

I'm in a group called Celebrate Recovery
12 steps, 8 principles, on the Beatitudes from the Bible

I have zero belief in the Bible god but I did get sober. It takes some mental gymnastics to weed out the concept and loosely follow the steps.
It can be done.
