Trying to do sobriety on my own and still dealing with ongoing, persistent issues in my life was almost impossible, til I found what I now call my home group. I walked in and all these wonderful people approached me and told me their names and asked me questions and of COURSE I was skeptic at first. The high that NA and my home group give me is better then any I've experienced before. Positivity and support and smiling faces and people who actually give a hoot about what your saying AND CAN REMEMBER IT THE NEXT DAY. It's a pretty awesome feeling, knowing I'm surrounded by people who actually care and don't have alterier motives. When I decided to go back the next week, I was greeted with hugs and "so good to see you". Just for today, I will welcome newcomers the way I was welcomed and make them feel empowered and safe.
