As I hit my 3.5 year mark a couple days

As I hit my 3.5 year mark a couple days ago, I got the word that one of my dear recovery friends overdosed and lost his battle with this deadly disease. I notice patterns in recovery that I can’t unsee, he was an AA member and did really well in his sobriety and mental health while he was attending meetings and working the steps of recovery. There were times things were going so well for him that his attendance dropped and the program was not important, he thought he had this thing. He’d relapse, come back and repeat the same cycle several times… until this time. Friends….. this IS a deadly disease, please I beg you to find some sort of long term support that works to stay sober and mentally healthy…. Beg you!! I’m tired of putting my friends in the ground due to this disease. Rest in peace Todd may your story save the life’s of others suffering.

Thanks for sharing Brian. Sorry to hear about your friend.

I’m sorry for your loss, thank you for the reminder on how deadly our disease is.

So sorry for your loss. I think so many of us think we have another chance to get sober but sometimes we don't.

So sorry for your loss. I can never stop believing I NEED this program.
