I don’t want to speak for your personal position in your recovery, but do take a moment to make sure this is what you want. I’m not saying this in any other way than sincerely. Struggling with sobriety is something I deal with. I lost my dog last year and didn’t think that I’d be ready for another one as soon as I got my dog now… In fact- I wasn’t ready! It’s what I needed though. I find it hard to focus on my difficulties when I’m distracted by a being that offers unconditional love even when I’m having one of my worst days. They see us the way we need to see ourselves most often. It can help us start to see the progress we make, even if it’s minute. I’m just offering a little perspective. Either way, do what’s best for you. I hope you have a great day.

Plus having something/someone to depend on us keeps us going. It helps with our consistency and dependability. Idk, but again- take care. I hope what I said wasn’t offensive or presumptuous. All the best!
