As im trying to he sober. I fail constantly. Any help is appreciated
I am a convicted felon I was arrested in Baltimore county for prescription fraud. It's been 16 years since I used a needle. I have a 8 year old daughter now. She has never seen me use drugs. I am sober today over 18 months from everything besides nicotine. I have done most all drugs out there. I decided to subside from all substances. I was a chronic relapsed until I got a Sponcor worked the steps and did not do it for court order. I successfully finished probation and was on probation for 10 years. All my Nevers came true. Your pain has value but only if you share it instead of inwardly destroy you. You are not what your thoughts say about you. Keep the faith there is Hope brother.
Find someone who looks like they are actually helping people compare in to what you can hear that is similar to your story instead of comparing out. Ask them to work the 12 steps. Don't be afraid of a higher power but it's a spiritual program meant to try to help you find something greater than your disease.
I volunteered for a depression study the medication make me so sick from two sips of beer so I do na beers when my friends and I go out
Make just ONE day...start there...just today! Just ONE...YOU GOT THIS!!! One day!!! Even if you don't sleep and you climb the walls and freak out...it's only for ONE day
If you’re not actively attending meetings, working the steps with a sponsor, you need too. “Fearless and through!
Jeremy.. are you going to meetings? Do you have a sponsor?
If your answer is no, which I think it is then you may want to consider going to and obtaining one.
You can't do this by yourself.
Reach out to me if you need someone to talk to I'm here whenever you want to talk
Failure is relative. Sometimes you "fail" for a while until you can maintain abstinence. It's not really filure. It's progress. Count your milestones. Be willing to try new things to further your recovery.
I'm not someone who was a daily drinker but I had compulsive drinking behaviors. It took me probably almost 5 years to put together a year or more of sobriety. For a lot of people just continuing to work recovery was a huge milestone. I was really hard on myself and beat myself up unnecessarily. Be kind to yourself. Give yourself credit where it's due. And if you recognize you're really messing it...make the necessary changes so that you can live a life you want to live.
