Assertive communication and boundary issues

is what the DV BIP ladies and I worked on yesterday. It was very awakening for one. Stating that every boundary on our handout is one that has to be reset for herself. She was in tears at the end of our session. She realized that her communication style is passive. So, she left with this sentence starter: "I feel (emotion) when you (their behavior). She felt so empowered walking out with the new knowledge!
Today is SU Group Tuesday! Woo whoooo! So grateful I get to work with this group. It will be a small group and today we are talking about the Myths of Addiction! I like this session. It is always interesting to see what people have been taught to believe about those of us who have Addiction struggles.
I am grateful today for sending in my application to foster pups from Saving With Soul. I have been approved. This keeps one more pup out of the shelter. It also, hopefully, will be a side kick for Shiloh and able to show her that humans are okay. Well. This human!
I am grateful today that I am waking up sober! I am struggling to get out of bed. I am just wanting to sleep more. I know the cause and I go to therapy :relieved:!
I am grateful today for the gift certificate from the owners at the BPPR! What a nice way to thank your employees half way through the year! Now, I am shopping for a new headset to use at the center. The one issued is wired. I cannot stand wires. Therefore, I am splurging in wireless....everything! I am grateful for being able to do this due to the monies made at the BPPR!
I am sober! I am strong! I am grateful! Today!!!!!
