At a restaurant

Was it hard for anyone to go out with a loved one and simply enjoy a meal without looking at all the alcohol and wanting nothing more but to have a beer? I’m currently looking around and see people drinking and wish I could have one :sob: :frowning:

Yes. Theres so many interesting, exotic drinks on the menus and I sometimes want so badly to try them, but all my friends and family know I'm currently sober so that expectation keeps me from ordering anything alcoholic. I'm trying to find nonalcoholic drinks to order. There's some non alcoholic drinks to order at the bar resources on the internet. I'm trying to order those things so I can order something new and exciting and not feel left out.

I’ve been sober for over a year and I still have trouble with it. Went out last night to Top Golf and played Pool. The entire time everyone was drinking and all my mind tried to do was justify getting one drink. It happens less and less over time though.

Keep your head high and keep swinging!

It’s the hardest thing ever. But one won’t ever be one. With me one leads to me blacking out and acting some type of fool. I just have to remind myself I don’t want to wake up and regret or be embarrassed or feel the disappointment from myself and others the next day. It’s not worth it. Just stay strong :muscle:
