August 16th, 2016. That was my clean date until Saturday. 2,056 days…. Gone down the drain. I’ve disappointed myself and everyone around me. I betrayed my husband, I let down my child, I hurt everyone all for what? The temporary release that a bottle of Jose Gold gave me. Back to square one. All this time clawing for people to trust me again, all this time rebuilding myself just to end right back where I was.

That time isn't down the drain...is not wasted time. It is time you've learned so much. And this relapse, is a mere moment. Dust yourself off, get back to your sobriety. You are stronger than the poison.

Thank you so much. I just feel so disappointed in myself and like dirty. Definitely not going to stay down though.

Congratulations! First year is hard! Just gonna try to dust myself off and keep it pushing. One day at a time right?

Life is often not a straight line...perfection isn't the goal either. Just remind yourself that you are so glad you've had this learning moment and keep on going!

Progress not perfection. We are all human and the things you learned those 2,056 days doesn’t just disappear. The good you did in that time doesn’t poof away. It was a set back. Dust yourself off and get back on the wagon.

Thanks so much for sharing this helps me huge, but for the grace…. We are going to be ok, we do recover :heart:

That’s not down the drain. You slipped up and got back up. At least it didn’t take you months or years to get back to business

When you spill a salt shaker, do you throw the whole thing way? Nah, you pick it up and save as much as you can. A relapse is a lot like a spilled salt shaker. It isnt a total loss, just pick up and salvage what you can. You got this.
