So humiliated
Learn from your lapse. What triggered it?
You came back to us. Figure out the trigger
You are not alone 2722138117 if you ever need to talk. I struggled a lot before I could get several days and I had an accountability partner I could
to talk through my emotions . Here if you need me
Sometimes it’s just externally processing that helps me
Here if you need an ear to vent
Julie, please don’t let the relapse beat you up too much. Learn from it! I asked myself, what could I’ve done differently or more of or less of.
For me, I tried everything possible a thousand times until I realized that I didn’t give AA/NA a real 100%. Once I did a real program everything went much better and I haven’t relapsed in 17 years.
I’m here if you want to talk or have any questions.
Oh Julie I'm so sorry. That internal shame can swallow us whole. I know you can do this. You gotta want it with every fiber of your being. And you have to work at it every single day. Look at it this way, you learned what didn't work. Now move forward with that knowledge. Best wishes.
Too much going on. No Support at home. A lot of verbal abuse. Day two. Trying to stay strong.
I have
Thank you, Stephanie
I should’ve reached out honestly. I reached out, but didn’t say how much I was hurting.
A tool I use when cravings or urges hit hard is DENTS.
Delay, Escape, Neutralize, Task, Swap. If you can delay using for even 10 minutes, that urge, craving, and thoughts of using may go away. Escape the situation; go for a walk, leave the house, go for a drive, or avoid the situation altogether. Neutralize: box breathing or meditation can help. Tasks: keep yourself busy with something else to take your mind off it, and swap negative thoughts for positive ones.
Figure out what healthy activities clear your mind.
I understand the Humidity 100% as I was just there, Girl.
One hour at a time. I understand it’s not easy but one foot in front of the other. Your are in my Prayers

slip doesn’t erase the strength of your sober days. The journey doesn’t stop, it doesn’t reset, and it definitely doesn’t lose value. Every hour you’ve fought for yourself is still yours.
- A slip is an event, not an identity.
- Your sober days are still victories.
- Every moment you continue forward is part of your strength.
And celebrating the journey — the messy, human, resilient journey — is what keeps us going.
If you're not getting the support you need at home then get out. I know easier said than done. I fully understand that trying to find support in the northern part of the state is hard and not like it is down here in the southern part.
I'm on the south side of California. If you need a break the doors open.
Don't be humiliated.
Happens. The main thing is that you know what triggered it, you know what to do about it and most importantly you came back and shared about it.
