Back to day one. I need to remember this. Moving forward, I need to treat my sobriety like a precious gem. Be well.

This resonates so so deeply with me right now that I got chills when I read it. I am back on day 2 myself. I had a little heartache and the foundation of my sobriety was not strong enough for me to cope any other way than using!!! I was putting a person before my recovery. Humans will hurt us and sometimes it’s not even their fault. “No human power.”God/ Higher Power will never ever fail us. We acknowledge where we went wrong and proceed accordingly. I’m so proud of you for continuing to move forward. There are beautiful miracles and a life that is second to none awaiting both of us.

Thank you for this. I feel so alone in this journey as my husband doesn’t understand. I thank God for these groups and people like you.

Keep coming back, sweetie. If you PM me, I can actually give you the info for the Zoom AA meeting I do every day. If you’re interested, it is a great meeting with a lot of recovery.

Thank you Jennie. I’m on day 3 again. I love the idea that our sobriety needs to come before all else. We cannot serve from an empty vessel.

Absolutely. As alcoholics/ addicts we seek. We seek everything other than our deepest inner selves when that’s where the answers are.

The woman who saved me and talked me into AA reminded me regularly “the first time (getting sober) is a gift, don’t waste it”. I was 48 and figured I didn’t have many chances left and I’ve always treated it as a gift. It gets harder.
