Back ton Day 1 on this journey!

Back to day one in my sobriety. It’s been a few years that I’ve been sober, I decided to try and get sober again… I have just been getting out of control, planning my days around drinking, breaking plans, etc. It’s been a very long anxiety driven day. Did a few meditations and took multiple naps. Lol day 1. Any words of encouragement or support would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Have you thought about maybe a detox or rehab? Give yourself a break from life to build tools to stay sober.

Ditto.. give yourself lots of grace right now !! It’s your season to rest and heal ! My blood pressure spiked even on meds when I first quit and made the anxiety worse .. you should see your doctor to make sure your ok while detoxing!!!

Thank you both! I thought about detox or rehab. Last time I did an outpatient program. Wasn’t much help but also I was the only female in groups which kind of made it uncomfortable . Going to attend a women’s AA meeting later for some additional support. My anxiety is not as bad today (thank goodness). Just feeling exhausted and want to sleep  thank you both for your responses.

Try a 3 day detox. The first week is rough, especially if you drink all the time. My withdrawals almost took me out.

Welcome back. Time to go what do what you need to stay sober. Check out a lot of meetings. Women meetings are good. But any meeting will help you. Create yourself a support system. You don’t have to go it alone

Welcome back Denise! One suggestion which helped me a great deal and still does everyday is to go to meetings. If interested I’m happy to send you some!

I would also continue to reach out and connect here to build a sober network to check in with every day.:heart:
