Join a book club or a church. Volunteer to babysit for single mothers trying to go back to school & need help with their kid while in classes. Try out a new hobby. Turn neighbors into friends … :woman_shrugging:

Some days are lonely for sure. Coming early and staying later after the meeting is a great way to get to know you people on a deeper level. It’s also a great way to get invited along!

I haven’t been lonely since I joined AA

A person may be lonely but not alone. It boils down to a UNTRAINED MIND. BE KIND TO YOURSELF. GET into action trust the process of Recovery and you will make it.

That's awesome

Very True thanks you guys for the encouraging words

I started reading and working on healing. Being sober has made me be a more present mom, friend, and employee. I almost feel busier now. I enjoy being alone now because it gives me time to work on myself. When I get lonely I go out with friends still but I always drive myself so I can dip out when the scene isn’t for me anymore. I never agree to be DD but do let everyone know to always call me if they don’t have any other option because I don’t want them driving after drinking. Listening to podcasts while exercising, cooking, doing things around the house can also keep you busy so you don’t even have time to feel lonely. Just some things that have helped me. Real crime shows or murder mysteries are always a go to as well lol you can msg me if u want! Have a relaxing Sunday :slightly_smiling_face:

It can be but if you surround yourself with the right people you won’t be so lonely and will have a great support circle

You stop drinking … you didn’t stop living
