Since the pandemic has eased up, I've been going back to AA meetings. I even have a new home group. We read from the book entitled "12 Steps and 12 Traditions." This book is definitely for the thinking mind. It was written by alcoholics for alcoholics.
And anyone that has suffered from addiction, regardless of your drug of choice, will benefit from this book.
I would encourage anyone seeking recovery to try it. Never a dull meeting, either. I've been making new friends along the way, too.
I've also gotten phone numbers and actually use them. I've been sober a long time, and I still call someone every day. Just hearing that person on the other side of the phone makes me feel better. Way better than I could ever feel from texting with someone.
