Been in the hospital all day and will be here

Been in the hospital all day and will be here all night into tomorrow and possibly tomorrow night. My daughter got admitted today for some stomach stuff, and had to get a tube out down her nose. Probably the hardest thing I’ve ever had to watch for her. She was terrified, but she got through it. My anxiety and stress has been crazy, and I’d love nothing more than to smoke a blunt and take a few pills, but I keep telling myself these are just passing thoughts and I don’t need that anymore.

Im sorry you both had to go thru that !! i hope she has a speedy recovery. Stay strong, the pills and blunt will only make it worse and add more stress on top. I hope you can find some healthy coping mechanisms. Sending positivity (っ'-')╮=͟͟͞͞ :love_letter:

It's called a nasogastric tube. I've had them. I promise you it's awful for a minute but the benefits are life saving. If you blunt your feelings and mind I guarantee precisely when your daughter NEEDS you you won't be there. If you need to take a break and get to a meeting. Tell her where you're going. Then come back. Sobriety doesn't fix the Tide of emotions a day can bring.. it gives you, the twelve steps to you. Tools to survive and give Love to others like your own daughter. ( I've had cancer three times, sober. I promise I know what The 12 steps and meetings give)

Thank you! She’s doing alright right now, getting better, but got a little bit of a road to get through. I’m doing well myself, now just dealing with clients at work and that stress! But I push through everyday!!

Thanks Nate! We’re both pushing through

It was hard to watch that process, they had to do it twice to get it in right. But it helped her. I’m good now, got back to work and have some people at work and my girlfriend that we’re thee for me. And seeing clients daily is my peace, while stressful and hectic, also peaceful! Odd, but true!

I'm so grateful you're sober, so you can support her exactly how she needs. And be there every minute as it comes, not off in your mind somewhere thinking about using. You're doing it!! Good job dad.

Thank you!! I’m trying my best!

Daniel, I'm glad to hear your doing better. How's your daughter? How's your girlfriend? Remember sobriety gives us the ability to give to others even in our hour of need. You guys are all in this together and you've got your meeting friends too. You and your family are in My prayers

Guess what it’s not all about you!

Who said it was all about me?

Thank you. Both are doing well. Daughter has been better, still got some stuff to work on, but making progress. Girlfriend is doing great, been very supportive, never leaving my side.

Always strong, even in times of weakness. Thanks for the encouragement
