Been really wanting a drink. 7 days sober. How am I going to get through 4th of July weekend?! One day at a time ....
You can do it! Keep lots of sparkling water or what ever other non-alcoholic drinks around and if you are around alcohol, have a get out of dodge plan. God is great and so are you!
Thank you
Prioritize yourself and your sobriety, do not feel the need to go to every social gathering…
Call the right people not the ones you drank and drugged with
Don’t go to the same places
This is a bit existentialist but it really is just another day, it’s given meaning by enough people to warrant your awareness but at its roots you have the power to treat it like any other day
You can celebrate independence from ties of addiction and what our society has normalized
Good luck
Just sit back and watch all the drunken idiots blow their fingers off....
Ha!
Avoid situations that are not good for you if you have. I will have 21 months and Still avoid people, places and things. I prefer that, instead of getting back into that dark hole again. Meetings, reach out if you need to go take a SOBER buddy with you. This is not easy at all but the alternative will be worse. My brother died at 33 the color of a lemon and my dear friend bleed out from alcoholism in his car. Think before you do something. Best wishes to you. One Day At a Time.
I always thought July 4th was overrated, anyway. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all American 100% support our country but I just don’t like that society uses every and any excuse it can find to promote partying to excess. I’ll be enjoying my steak alone looking at my back yard.
Don’t be where you don’t need to be. Have an escape route. If that means driving yourself to a party do so. Pack your own cooler with water, soda, or anything else NA you want. If you need to step away and call someone do it! If you feel that trigger to drink walk away. Remember those that matter don’t mind, and those that mine don’t matter!
I haven’t seen or spoke to a couple of family members almost two years because they are my major trigger. Parties with them (one in particular) is wall to wall liquor inside and out. Can’t go there. Family members are the hardest people to get to understand this
Safest places for you to be on the 4th of July and the next 90 days are at AA meetings amongst other alcoholics. You should have phone numbers of people that have long-term sobriety.
If you're trying to do this all on your own without taking action outside of this app you're going to be in for a long hard struggle that will surely end in failure.
Do not hang out with anybody that will be drinking that day whether they be family or so-called friends.
If you hang around a barbershop long enough you're going to get a haircut!
And when you start to actually remember holidays it’s pretty cool
Seems harder than it is. I got sober on Halloween so then Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Years etc…. But what I had to remember was that drinking does NOT make things more fun. At least not for me. Remembering the holidays this year was awesome and it’s a gift to celebrate sober! You can do it and I’ll do it WITH YOU!

Yup sparkling water is my go to as well!
7 days in, I don’t think I would be able to be around alcohol. I’d suggest staying clear of it as unrealistic as it may seem
Best of luck to you. I agree, must stay away from social situations this weekend.
