Being on parole at the halfway house - miss my family

I'm grateful for my freedom. I'm trying to stay positive. I'm sober and alive, I'm just struggling during the night having to come back here every night being away from my family. Not trying to complain just being honest. Hope everyone has a good day. You're worth it.

Erin, online meetings at night are a good way to spend your time away from your family. You and your family are worth it! I did time and was on parole too. Just wish I got serious about my sobriety sooner.

Hey, check it out. I violated parole numerous times and had been on paper for 5 years. After completing 5 months of residential treatment , my P.O. just discharged my number last week. It seems hard now, but keep up the good work and it will pay off dividends before you know it!

sober and alive and still choosing to stay positive through all of that, the nights are the hardest part and you named it honestly, the family waiting on the other side of this is worth every hard night

Thank you all so much!
Any suggestions for online meetings? Do they have any that are later in the evening?

Thank you 🩷

Thank you

They have zoom meetings all times of the day all over the world

Is that through "in the rooms"?

There are many different ways to find them. That is one, or aa-intergroup.org

So you know, I sponsor over the phone. 17 years sober 3/14. I just friend requested you. Either way I’m here if you want to talk or have any questions

Thanks Danny! I should probably get a sponsor ...

I’m here if you have any questions

You know what Erin?.. think of it like this... I know your heart aches for your family and you've had so much "time out" and space to clear your head right? But they haven't. They've not had "time out". Time is really helping them get ready for YOU. The YOU that they may not be used to. Let em be a lil skeptical from a distance also. That helps you and your recovery believe it or not. :revolving_hearts::revolving_hearts:

Out here in Scottsdale and Phoenix I’ve seen lots of people get out of prison and go into a sober house or halfway house and within three months. They’ve usually made a lot of progress. Have a job and within about six months. A lot of them have a vehicle. It’s all possible I see it happen every day there’s a huge recovery out here there’s a place called new freedom that has like 400 beds of people that come out of prison and they re-acclimated to society and it’s all possible. It gets old the same one day at a time but it’s true. Just put 1 foot in front of the other and find your higher power. I hope it’s gone, but if it’s not the universe, whatever works.

You got this it’s always better on this side of the fence!
