Bellybutton birthday 48 years old. Birthdays mean a lot more these days, I have no doubt that I would not be around to celebrate anything if I had kept in my addiction. There were a lot of things that were threatening my life at the end, health, drunk driving, beginning to experiment with harder substance and more. I’m grateful for a program that has given me an Avenue to save my own life. I sit this morning enjoying my coffee as a free man, sober, healthy and no longer weighed down with mental health issues and trauma. Freedom!!!!

You bet!! It’s your actual day of birth. We in recovery usually call our birthday the day of the beginning of sobriety. So we call it a belly button birthday. We might not use but still delightfully weird

In the meeting the other night we were reading the stories in the BB where is says
“I was rescued from the scrap heap of alcoholism”
Boy can I identity with that. So grateful for my sobriety today. God is doing for me what I could not do for myself.
