Booked a tattoo appointment

I booked my first tattoo appointment in over 3 years! The last tattoo I ever got was from my ex a little almost 3 years ago, of course it was his name. (Soon to be covered)

I was going to get something with my girls first, and also cover his name, but this one stuck out to me for many reasons. I’m a survivor of sexual assault (from many men, not just my ex) and domestic violence. I feel the power behind this tattoo already, even though it’s not on me yet. :black_heart:

…hoping for a better future for you, free from / of men like the ones you had to deal with in the past.
I feel as if too many members of the patriarchy do not have sense enough to be “ petrified “…ha, ha(?)…many lack brain cells.
Wishing you the best!

I never had any tattoos until recently and it’s been therapeutic for me.

Maya I am so proud of you. I was also a victim of molestation as a kid for many years. we do recover I work through the steps and was able to heal from the wreckage of my past.

It sounds to me like you have worked the steps and got through all the pain is that correct?

Nope definitely have not! I have a lot of trauma to unpack, for many many years, not just the last 5 I’ve been with my girls’ dad. It’s gonna be a lot but I’m finally ready! Don’t even know where to start but therapy again is gonna be a good help, I hope!

And I’m terrible sorry to hear that, no child deserves that. Children need to be protected, if anyone. I’d die by that. Sending my love & support to you.

…I clicked on the heart in regards to what you shared about being ready, Maya.

This could right, take a long, long while.
It takes a lifetime, sometimes…while yes, gotta start somewhere?!

Completely agree regarding what you shared with Troy.

Two researchers that have helped provide some self-compassion ( I have found )…
Gabor Mate
Brene Brown
( They each also address addiction in, within their respective research areas ).

…you made me smile with this comment,
Maya…thank you!
Today was intense.
Attended another funeral.
I have been to four since December.

…grateful to / for the individual we were honoring.
She was dynamic.
A true inspiration.
I’m so glad to be sober and not destroying this precious life that we get to live.
Good night and peace, y’all.

Wow. That’s incredibly moving. And 4 since december? That’s unfortunate, how life is so fast. We don’t see it at times. We never know when the last goodbye is going to be. That’s put a lot in perspective for me, too.

Yes.
Life goes by so quickly.
And right.
We do not know what will happen in, within this next moment.
Thank you for your words.
I hope that you are having a peaceful day!
