Breweries that Welcome Children

Hey everyone :wave:New here :sunglasses:. I have been listening to the audio interviews in this app, and am loving the tools :hammer_and_wrench: Loosid provides. I hope to meet some new people and build some positive relationships here !

I’d like to ask everyone’s opinion of the new trend , breweries that have games etc. and allow children to accompany their parents to their establishments. This hits a sore spot with me , as my children’s father works at one occasionally and was arrested leaving the establishment recently.

In my opinion, these establishments represent a huge problem & enable drinking and driving with children. I think it is also setting up a new generation of drinkers as the children now essentially are attending bars (breweries).

What do you guys think?

It doesn’t seem right, but we can’t control what other ppl do. Responsible parents would not drink and drink with there kids.

They say hindsight is always 20/20, that said, i am concerned for the welfare of the kids. Its not a daycare, and is that person at the next table a “fill in the blank with every creep youve met in a bar, read about, known, etc.”. Thirty years ago(sneaking into bars shooting pool throwing darts etc) my answer would have been different, now i think the Offspring sang it best then, “ you got to keep them separated “

Not a new trend, in the 70’s my farther would take us to Busch Gardens in Van Nuys, Ca owned by Anheuser-Busch, an amusement park that offered FREE beer. It was an amusement park! AB still owns sea world and as of recently you could still get free samples of beer!!

Thank you for your replies.

Drinking establishments in general are shady in my opinion. They happily take your money without a notion that they may be helping you ruin your life. All in the spirit of assuming your in the small percentile of "responsible" drinkers. At the end of the day, they are a business and they want your money. If that means putting you at risk of getting a DUI, child endangerment charges, or a horrific car wreck, who cares as long as you're a paying customer..

I used to live in”wine country” where everything was “alcoholic disneyland” as coined by the kids. Sad, but also helped open my eyes to the bs

It's not something I would be tempted to try with my drinking problem, but I'm sure some people could do this responsibly. It is a slippery slope though.

People can drink and drive with their children from their homes also. It really comes down to parent responsibility with their kids.
