Bringing a topic and am thinking about "Consequences in Recovery." Anyone have some thoughts or experience with this?
Consequences in recovery like good things or bad because some may say being a hermit is bad if they don't like being alone I tend to not mind it as much. Or are we talking about the consequences of the body and what many years of active use does to the human body and brain?
Just because we are recovering or eventually recovered doesn't mean our actions prior to all we do now immediately disappear. We still have to look at our side of the street and continue to cleanup. We also have to stop creating more problems as well.
So I’m not sure what you mean by the topic. Maybe you could explain a bit.
But I’ll take a stab at it. I’m thinking it means that we don’t run away to the bottle or whatever else in sobriety when something comes up. We face life on life’s terms.
Sober
But I can’t really think of consequences of recovery. Just all the gifts it brings. The consequences of recovery are being happy joyous and free. No longer a slave to the drink or drug.
Freedom
Consequences in recovery means to me making amends but my higher power is merciful ,mercy rejoiceth against judgement,so I think as long as we're willing to face em God will be there for us ,but the goal is to grow not to back
Consequences IN recovery. Not OF.
Mainly consequences from our behavior that don't align with our core principles and values.
Just what I would write, Matthew. People who have been harmed by our actions need to see sustained sobriety before they can begin to trust again (if ever).
What core principle and values? Who's? Yours? Sobriety for everyone is different and they're all on their different paths. As long as these days over I don't see a problem
So in that case you’re talking about the 4th 5th and 10th steps.
The 12 steps are there to help us through these challenges.
I keep doing the work and leave the results up to my HP
