Can I get some folks's personal opinion on some things I'm a recovering alcoholic I'm 8 months sober I'm 27 years clean of heroin now do any of you see any problem with smoking marijuana in recovery as a medication for nerves Etc I do this but my counselors are having issues with this which I can understand but for me I don't like taking medication from the doctors that's going to have a long-term effect on my body even more than what I have done to myself so I smoke Mary Jane but at the same time I don't drink no more and I don't mess with any other hard drugs or anything other than Mary Jane Does anybody else see a problem with this long-term besides not being able to get a job please hit me back with comments on this thank you
I honestly believe that everyone’s recovery is their own journey. I commend you for thinking outside the box in your recovery, instead of going back to heroin and the other drugs, drinking you were doing, if smoking weed is what you choose to do I think that is better then taking prescription drugs (which to me is worse) doctors love to push medication on people. Stay strong and I believe you are doing the right thing. Congratulations on 8 months of sobriety
I totally get not wanting to be on some prescription with harmful side effects. In my opinion, if you are able to smoke weed without it escalating to anything else or having a negative impact on your life, more power to you. I know for me personally, weed leads to booze, which leads to heroin/fent and meth. I know many people that are "cali sober" and it has works for them. I know many more that began a relapse with cannabis (myself included) and ended up back in misery with their DOC.
