3rd day clean after using again for about 3 months. Detox center says I’m admitted but still waiting on bed. Trying to find strength to stay sober on my own at the moment.

I've been down this road a few times....
You have to have withdrawal symptoms when you are admitted into the detox for any insurance to cover. The general guideline is about 24 hrs without use /drinking. It's dumb but that's how it works my man. I drank up to the door at one place and never really had withdrawals before treatment. It was a smooth detox but insurance rejected it and it was a 10k headache after that. Just know that's what's going on with that process. Good Luck my friend.

Dewey. Please stay strong. I drank right up to the minute my husband took me to the ER. He called and they said come in there was a bed but I had to wait for hours in the ER. They gave me meds to not be sick and detox meds for alcohol withdrawal Maybe try having someone drop you off at the ER and see if that helps to get you a bed. Apparently every state is different. I know you can do this.

Try to ask a doctor prescribe you benzos, they will help you to calm down and wait for the bed

If you start having withdrawal get to an ER. Alcohol and Benzo withdrawal can be dangerous and sometimes fatal. As a healthcare professional in recovery I have seen people who got to the hospital too late. Going to the ER is part of taking care of yourself and your recovery. I have been thru it more than on e myself. Take care.
