Just lost my high-paying corporate job and two days later had major emergency sugery on my right foot that will take 12-18 months to recover (to the extent my body will allow, anyway). Had two additional surgeries on the same leg last year. So, as I twist in this tornado of excrement, I’m proud to say that today marks 500 days sober! Above all else, there’s always a silver lining if you look close enough

500 days is huge, especially when the times are rough. But I would a million times rather be doing them sober than emotionally miserable and hungover. The days always change but the sobriety continues to grow.
