Celebrating one month without alcohol today and it feels great. I’ve been drinking since the age of 18 and I recently turned 55. I decided that my liver has had enough damage and I was throwing up every night after drinking. I had become verbally abusive to my wife of 8 years so much that she had to seek counseling. Enough was enough. Now she thinks she has a new wife. Life is so much better not drinking. I feel better about myself. And for the first time in my life my mom said she was proud of me. I lost my only sister in September due to Covid. That really made me drink myself to near death and hit rock bottom. I asked God to remove alcohol from my life and I haven’t touched it nor craved it since. Life is good now and I’m living life sober for the first time by making better choices
