Let us collectively celebrate this remarkable achievement! I am overjoyed, profoundly grateful, and alive, and I am eternally, 7-6-2024.
A year ago, the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel intensified with each surrender to my Higher Power. I refer to this as God, Jesus Christ.
I am filled with boundless gratitude and happiness to proclaim, “I am Michael, a blessed and grateful alcoholic, and I have achieved sobriety for an entire year!”
I cannot express my gratitude sufficiently to my family, friends, the Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) group I am a member of, my sponsors, and the prayers that have been offered and answered this year. Words fail to convey the depth of my experiences.
Every tear, every outburst of anger, every anxious thought, every surge of positive and negative energy, my Higher Power intervened and provided. I am astounded that a year has transpired, and the desire to consume alcohol, the physical sensation, the craving, and the compulsion have all vanished.
My progress, my adherence to the steps, and my continued sobriety are a testament to the strength, guidance, wisdom, and discernment bestowed upon me by my Higher Powers’ Holy Spirit.
God introduced me to AA, and AA illuminated the spirituality I lacked in my relationship with God. Initially, I held a religious perspective, but now I am guided by the Spirit, enabling me to approach and comprehend the more accessible and compassionate path, one day at a time.
It works, it truly work, if stay determined, willing and surrendered...
