Chaired a Men’s meeting tonight

Chaired a Men’s meeting tonight. There was about 40 Alcoholics. I was nervous! It’s hard to cram my experiences in 15 minutes. So much to say. But I asked God to direct my thinking. God did good as always. Met some real good people tonight. Drove about 2 hours to get to this meeting.

Anyone love chairing meetings?

I loved giving the lead at the mens group I go to.

Hey Kevin! Nice to see you continue to put in the work and reap the rewards. I admire the length you go to in order to stay sober. Thanks for leading the way and being a good example of how AA works. I’ve only told my story once, and 15 minutes is definitely a challenge. I’ve chaired a few other meetings, but those have been either literature or chairpersons choice meetings. Chaired one last night actually… but it’s only 15 minutes from the house! Appreciate you brother :peace_symbol:

Keep up the good work my friend! I’ll be chairing a mixed group next month. It’s my home group…

Nice

Thank you brother Lee! I enjoy doing God’s will. I’ve chaired at the Alano club by my house. That’s where I get my practice, :joy:
I appreciate you too Brother!

Vulnerability is key. I'm glad they had that moment with you. I can't express how important that is.

It’s the best way to connect with other real alcoholics.

I agree- but I feel that's the best way, life in general.

Tonight I will host my first meeting that I am a member of. I too am asking GOD to take the wheel and drive me where he wants me to go. Kevin you are an inspiration and I'm so grateful that I can call you friend. Thanks for helping me out and I'm ready for the steps. We can only achieve success through GOD and the support of others. You showed me that and I'm thankful. Congratulations on the meeting and keep doing GOD'S work. He has so much in-store for you.

Welcome  I’m glad to be of service.

Just 1 alcoholic talking to others. I started my story a few weeks ago, figure I will keep it under my belt in case I am ever asked for it. Good stuff Kevin!

Exactly Darryl! As for my story one thing I like to do is pray right before I share. This helps me to speak from the heart and to be completely honest with myself and the group… it’s good to have your story written down. Putting pen to paper helps us with our me problem….
The more you participate in the meetings by sharing at group level, the more you will be asked to chair… plus going to outside meetings and making connections with others has helped. I enjoy being of service. Have a blessed day my friend
