If you're looking for general connections, area alano clubs may be a good start. They often hold events. Lincoln park, Anona East & Palatine club are in the area. Miracle House in Des Plaines will allow you to meet other women in recovery. There is a fundraiser next month in McHenry for Soberfest, the area's largest AA event, soberfest.org
If you poke around & keep your ears open, you'll find lots of fun AA social stuff to do in Chicagoland.
