I’ve been sober since 2014 and love it! My problem is finding a sober community or those that can take or leave alcohol-particularly in the dating category.

I have other addictions that are more my problematic like food, co-dependency and love….but I’d rather date a guy who follows a 12 Step

Just remember, when it comes to dating people in 12 step programs, the odds are good but the goods are odd :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Ha! Love it!
I like my “odd” vs. the ironic “unhealthy” I identify in my dates (and in our culture, frankly). I need someone who lives by 12 Step. It’s a way of life for me and a different language I talk.

I’m not looking to date but definitely am looking for like minded sober people! I am about an hour to and hour and a half West of Chicago. :raised_hands:

None yet! :sob: I’ve got zero sober girlfriends. lol Well, I do have 1 but I’ve known her since 2nd grade and she now lives 5 hours away. Double sad!!

Chicago may be the booziest city in the US! :rofl: I agree though..gotta find a significant other who doesn’t drink, otherwise lifestyles clash too much in my experience.

I’m originally from Wisconsin the only state where every county has the most binge drinkers. It’s a part of the culture. Chicago much the same, I lived in the western suburbs for a few years. It’s hard.

Isn’t it?! I read an article where a guy from Wisconsin was sober for a while and a speaker, then life hit so he went to Chicago so he didn’t run into any familiar faces that knew of his sobriety and the ONE bar he went to, he ordered a drink, and the bartender heard him speak at a meeting or conference and asked if he was said person, and the guy replied yes and walked out of the bar without drinking. Crazy!
