Commitment

Just like sobriety this particular gratitude is every day. I am grateful for my parents. The racism and hardships they endured being a black and white couple the seventies I cannot even imagine as this same racism continues to persist today. I am grateful that they have endured struggle after struggle decade after decade and have taught us children the meaning of commitment. I am grateful for the sacrifices they have made not only for our benefits but for the benefit of this nation and for the benefit of many a stranger. I am grateful that they have always taught us right from wrong, that my father has always taught us the scripture and a deeper understanding than many will ever know, a deeper understanding then that in which I have ever seen taught at a church or even Bible study. I am grateful for that Foundation as these days it is one of the few things that I have to fall back on, keeping me humble, gracious, committed and blessed! Words will never come close to expressing the gratitude that I have toward them.
