First time in treatment, usually get sober in jail and prison lol. So I learned a lot about this disease. Made AA and Recovery church a part of my life. Keeping Jesus first as often as I can (I am human still lol) Therapy, taking H&I meetings into centers and sharing my story, slowing down and being grateful and mindful. Prayer, constant inward reflection and being open and honest in everything. One huge takeaway to carry into the next year is "you put out what you take in" so if I am listening to garbage music, watching garbage tv, surround myself with any type of toxic people then that is what will come out. In my mind and beliefs and in my actions and words. There is so much honestly, it would take forever to type out, and do I do it all perfect? Absolutely not, the one thing that matters is "Don't pick up, no matter what!"

Oh and even the smallest things matter, if I see a piece of trash on the ground and it's "safe" to pick up I will, not to be seen but to build my integrity- doing the right thing when no one is looking.

Wow that is really great Dan! I am so happy for you! That 1st year take so, so long. I think it's because we're learning a new way of life without being able to pick up a drink like we've been doing for years.
Keep doing what you've been doing and always remember that the circus is still in town!
