Covid Vaccine & Alcohol!

Covid Vaccine & Alcohol !
Hey Guys,

About 6 months ago I was basically directed to getting the Vaccine series (Pfizer) in order to stay in my career, and ironically I keep folks dying of Covid alive to hopefully either recover on their own, or get a lung transplant.

So full disclosure, my Alcohol intake in the Pandemic had been increasing, but also more "bendering" I'd be off the sauce for weeks then on for a hard week or sometimes two.
So when I decided to get the vaccine September 2021, I had literally lost a about four friends that month to different ailments back to back. Funerals, Celebrations of Life all September into October. With that for obvious reasons, came the drinking, and it came hard for that month. So after about a 2 weeks of debauchery, I started the pulling out of it, but felt like this would have to be done easily by "tapering down." Trying to avoid the Devils Claws by not drinking his juice, and being pulled back under.
4 or 5 days of lighter and lighter drinking, I switched over to water and water w= electrolytes but started to get sick, and sick I got. I've felt some DT's in the passed but this was all together different. For a solid week, I didn't eat anything, couldn't put down 16oz of fluid in a days time, and was vomiting something if I drank too fast. My urine , non existent most days, to the point where I had my old man drive into the ER one early morning because I felt like I was in Acute Renal Failure. ER for 3 hours, 2 bags of solution, CT scan and out I went. Next cpl days I started to hold fluid and food down and things got better. I Healed up for about 2 weeks and before I received the 2nd shot.
So I think im just about 6 months, w/o a drop of Alcohol, mentally feeling wonderful and haven't had a real craving. However, my 38 y/o body, feels 80, with aches and pains and maybe some gout at times. Because I had so much going on then, I cannot really pin point if I had or still am having side affects to Vaccine, or suddenly dropping alcohol after moderate to heavy drinking the 10 years is to blame. Anyone with similar experiences to either Vaccine or Stopping that Devils Poison?

Side note
1st post here , really commend all who are on this, very inspiring.
One thing I'd like to share on this road for me, is boredom! One of my worst enemies. I think at times, I was medically dependent on Alcohol, but rarely, my true crutch was social and not wanting to feel alone, as well as not sleeping. Once I worked through some of the last two, I find myself finding relaxation still attending my local watering holes, buying drinks for some, and hydrating on my Soda water. I won't stay out to late, just enough to get my fix, but also see why I stopped drinking observing others, and giving rides.

Oh, and usually I thought you drop lbs by dropping Alcohol, whats this sweet tooth I've been experiencing of Ice Cream?

I am not a medical professional so I can not speak to that part, I can tell you about my journey. After about 4 months of sobriety my joints stoped hurting, my mind was clear, my sleep was better and I did drop over 20 pounds. My mental heath was another story. It’s still not fully there especially after doing a 5th step. But I am working on it. I continue to feel better physically by working out, yoga has been helping. And now I have the energy and time to do it. As far as the sweet tooth, that’s common. There is a ton of sugar in alcohol, it’s actually what it’s made of… ice cream is my vice as well… but I would rather eat a bowl of ice cream than drink a bottle of bourbon every day.

I'm Totally with ya on the Ice Cream, heck I crave milk at times too. I bought granola cereal for breakfast, that hasn't happened in 10 plus years.
So when you stopped the Bourbon, you started aching for awhile?
