Has anyone tried the craving reducing drug
What's that
Naltrexone or Vivatrol?
The more you tell people about your cravings, the less you will need it my friend
I was recovering at a place, about a year and a half ago, that was taking a massive amount of 8506 people from prison, who were all taking sub strips illegally, and switching them over to the time release vivitrol shots that last a year. It seems to be a trend to microdose Suboxone to get high and apparently the shot puts a stop to all that. All I can say is that it seemed like they didn't have any choice but to do well. Recovery and relapse do boil down to intent after a while, and it's my take that the shot can be a positive thing, but it's not a substitute for doing the work on yourself, and addressing the causes and conditions that are at the root of the problem, for most addicts. In truth, there are very few shortcuts to success in life, but having a few extra tools at your disposal when needed, certainly doesn't hurt.
I’m currently on it. I’m 10 days sober today and it does help a lot! I still get the urge in certain circumstances, that’s been hard.
What drug,is it for?
I take Methadone and work my program through the clinic and it saved my life. Next month I’m going to start tapering off. It’s a slow process but it works if done well. Good luck. Everyone is different so look into all choices and remember it’ll come down to weather you really want to be sober.
Right on Zoe. Now that’s a truth!!
I used naltroxone for a year. Now, year two and I have coping skills and can ignore the noise. I wish you the best!
