Hi guys I’m in day 6 and Craving like Crazy!!! Everything is annoying me! Aaaarrghh!!
Had a bad day myself a couple of days ago. Talk to someone, find something to do, go to a meeting online or in person. Listen to a podcast, whatever works for you.
Cleaning my room!
Definitely get moving. Cravings typically last one hour and then most pass. Keep mindful to get busy for one hr and you’ll find it helps and subsequently subsides. You’ll be grumpy for a couple of weeks and possibly short with others. Be very mindful of that and try to walk away. Again stay busy. I had neglected my closets so much I found it easy to work organizing them and purging. Hope this helps! It’s not worth starting over with the shakes, swets and other side effects now that your past those hurdles.
Hi. I’m new here. Not quite sure where to start. I laughed about “cranky.” I’m 52 days sober. Still cranky!
I’ve been okay as far as cravings are concerned. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve failed many times!!! I’m trying to find my place. I feel lost and unmotivated to do anything. I need to find something rewarding to do.
I’m currently out of work. I own a business and we’re barely surviving. Soon, that should be back to normal. That should help. Sitting home, watching tv all day is not cutting it!
I’m wondering if anyone is familiar with any in person group meetings. I think I would absolutely benefit from speaking with like minded people. I can tell I would. We’re all in the same boat. Struggling to find our way.
I hope everyone is doing well. It’s not easy! Sometimes I wonder. How did I get here??
In any event. I live on Long Island. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
Diana🙂
I think I posted in the wrong place.
. Meaning under a post. Not a general posting.
Congrats on day 6!! That’s awesome
Be extra kind to yourself for these first couple of weeks- your body is doing some major recalibration
And find something to get you occupied- movies, books, podcasts, exercise (even just a little walk around the block), phone call with a friend, playing with a pet, etc.
You got this!

Right?!?! So boring, but then things become not so boring then the monotony of sobriety kicks in again then it goes away then it comes back. It’s frustrating, but when it’s good it’s really good. I try to focus on that.
