Hi Erik. Welcome. Meth cravings.... Like with any other substance there are variables and everyone is different. How long you used, how you used it, how long have you been off of it. All of these things can make a difference. Also everyone is different. What you first must realize is what's going on in your body. Cravings are simply your body, mind, system wanting what it's become accustomed to getting. Now it's not getting it so your body is saying " hey it's time for that substance" Don't listen to your lying body. It doesn't need it. Just wants it. Attempting to replace one substance with another is never a good idea. In other words taking some other drug instead. Find NA meetings in your area. Start attending as many as you can. When the cravings hit, hit another meeting. As you do this your mind and body will begin to clear those toxins allowing you to think and see things more clearly. Other ways of dealing with addiction will be presented to you such as in patient and out patient treatment. Medical assisted etc. Again all variables will dictate what you need but you'll get there. Reach out here as much as you need. Hope this helps get you started

Thank you

Yes sir

Very well said!! I also had to learn that I have a 2 part disease. One is where my body is physically dependent upon a substance, and the other is the mental obsession. I have a disease that centers in my mind, that is always trying to convince me that "just one drink" or "just a little" of this drug will be just fine, that's how it gets me EVERY single time. I had to pray for God to remove the obsession to drink and drug, every morning, for months before it was finally gone. It wasn't like a magic wand moment I had either. It was simply just not there one day. I highly recommend getting a sponsor, and working the steps. It changed and saved my life. Don't pickup between now and the time you go to bed, that's all you have to do.
