Cravings 😬

My cravings come in the form of psychological cravings. I start thinking that it would be fine to drink and that I’ll be ok. The insanity kicks in. Today I shut it down, reminding myself why I’m stopping this madness. I have naltrexone on hand and need to start hitting meetings. What are y’all doing to help curb cravings?

Physical cravings were pretty bad for me for months after I decided to finally quit.

I had to just white knuckle it some nights. I ate a lot in the beginning. I took really long walks. I took four hour long drives in the winter just to do something at night. I watch a lot of YouTube videos.

It gets better. I don’t have any taste for anything other than coffee or water now. Seriously. I had a super sweet body armor drink one day after I worked out and I thought I was going to puke.

Point is, I tried to think about what in my life I was really displeased with that I needed a distraction from and then I tried to address that. Sometimes I couldn’t, and I just had to distract myself with something else.

It gets easier. I hope this helps.

Whatever it takes to not use. Hope you get plugged into a program and work it. Only way I know how to stay sober. Congrats on this first week.
