Creativity

Shows me how to embrace parts of myself I didn't know existed or I was too afraid to acknowledge. Finding safety and security for me has been instrumental for my recovery however, "finding" has been much more of creating. To find acceptance I had to acknowledge and move beyond my fear of rejection. I had to accept myself by expressing myself genuinely and authentically at a surface level before I was able to learn who I was/am at a deeper level. I've lived in fear so long that creativity is such a foreign concept for me, but now that I'm stepping out of it and finding creative outlets I'm learning more about myself and more ways to connect with others.
