Does everyone on here (alcoholic) work the AA program? If not, why? And what works for you?
Yeah that’s a common question. The majority of folks on here wor some type of program, AA or NA or the many versions of those.
I personally practice the AA program. I tried just about everything until finally I decided to give AA a real try. It saved my life and has given me a life worth living today. That’s something that I didn’t have when I first got sober.
I work the AA 12-step program. Its the only thing I've found that has helped me stay sober.
I started in AA and have been blessed to be open about all platforms of recovery. In my mind, AA was the cornerstone to simple recovery principles. Therefore, it seemed the best place to start.
Personally I like the SMART Recovery meetings.
AA/NA meetings
I have been going to AA meetings since Jan 3rd 2017..... I also have volunteered at the local AA office to answer phones, talk to people and keep the intergroup office open for others. I have volunteered to help setup meetings and greet people at the door, make coffee and occasionally share my strength and hope, by telling my story.
This is what has worked for me.
