Grateful to finally be moving on from my ex girlfriend. It has been a struggle but I am putting the past behind me and only looking forward. Grateful for my job, sponsor, friends in AA, and higher power for keeping me sober one day at a time
Right on, Joe. Stay close to your AA friends. We can always find a way to laugh and cheer each other up! I’ve found that most people in recovery have a certain sense of humor (sometimes a little dark, but that’s ok haha) that helps me stay connected even on days when I’ve felt a little down. I love that other people in recovery can 100% relate to what I’m feeling. We can share. pretty deep and private stuff and other sober people will totally understand. We never have to feel alone again.
Laura you're 100% right! I have a group chat with 14 guys and we message all throughout the day and the women in the rooms have helped me so much get over the hump. I am so grateful to have REAL friends and not fake friends.
Oh wow that group chat sounds great!! I’m sure there are lots of jokes flying in that thread, haha. I’m One of the biggest reasons that motivated me to stay sober was hearing all the belly laughs in the meetings. Even if I wasn’t quite “there” yet, I knew I wanted to feel how they were feeling!
I’m so glad you have a group and you’re not feeling alone.
That group chat has saved my life. And the people in the rooms are definitely the reason why I'm sober today. If it wasn't for them I know I wouldn't be here. Yes it's amazing to have people who care about me. I love being sober!
