“Freely ye have received, freely give.”
The very first meeting I attended I ran into an acquaintance. He gave me a Daily Reflection book (it’s where I got the quote above). He eased my fears and let me know I was capable of obtaining sobriety. After some time I felt that I owed him something. I offered baseball tickets. He declined. He said one day someone might approach me and ask what this program is all about and hopefully I’d welcome them as he welcomed me. I’ve done that. Helping others is such a joyous aspect of recovery.
