Dating part of this app

I’ve been a member of this site for 7 months now, really enjoying the community. Thank you for everyone’s input. It’s been a healthy form of support.
After 7 months of sobriety, I’m feeling like dating would be ok. However, I want to date a sober person.
Has anyone used the dating portion of this app?
Feedback would be appreciated
Thank you again for this wonderful community.

It was touted as a feature but it doesn’t really seem to be very much more than clickbait

Not great

Unfortunately I share the same sentiments as the folks above me. I’ve been using both the community side and the dating side for I think about 8 months now, swipe right on every single potential match, and have literally never connected with everyone. I’d focus on the community side.

That being said, if you’re looking to date and are open to apps I’d recommend Hinge. They do a good job with personal details: you can either say you are sober, or that you’re just not drinking (you can hide this from your profile if you want some privacy). I get plenty of potential matches and there’s a healthy indifference to the fact that I’m in recovery—drink how or drugs or whatever tend to be seen as a sign of maturity and self-love as opposed to a stigmatized label of “alcoholic” and “drug addict.” My two cents but please reach out whenever!

Appreciate the input.
Looking preferably for a sober specific dating option. My thinking is there will be a level of understanding that I may not get from someone living “a healthy lifestyle”.
I feel no shame with my addictions and don’t have anything to hide.
Understanding and no judgement is what I’m after.

Hey Bradley,. I was invited to a site called Meet Up through someone at one of my meetings. They have a sober group in a lot of states too. It is not a one on one dating thing, but it gets you out to meet quite a few sober people. There is also many Meet Up events that may not be sober events, like at bars or places with alcohol, so read the details of each event if you want to sign up. I went to one event so far and it was alot of fun meeting like minded people. It was a night of card games at a coffee shop. They also have weekly walks or hikes that many people go to. It's worth checking out I think.

Thank you Jason

Wow you too ! That's kind of a relief .. I just thought I was ugly

Very true

Matched with 2 folks (after 3 months of no matches in my area) who have never messaged me back (could be bots, or could just be people who are going thru stuff and don’t want to commit to messaging). Joined Hinge, and right off the first week, I’ve met 2 sober people that engage in conversation and are wanting to go out/have exchanged phone numbers with me.
