AA has helped me a lot

I just relapsed and am looking forward to day one. I passed my UA but I'm hurting so bad.

Keep your head held high and keep moving forward.

Day 1 again?
Do you know why you drank? Because you believed the big lie; that this time, everything will be OK. But it never is, is it?

You're probably carrying around a lot of guilt right now because you realize that you accomplished absolutely nothing. Hold on to this feeling for as long as possible because sooner or later you're going to be faced with that challenge again and you're going to have to make a decision.

We have to learn to play the scene forward. What happens if you drink? You may feel some relief for a very short period of time but sooner or later you will be right back where you are right now, carrying around a lot of guilt like you are right now, knowing that you accomplished absolutely nothing.

Alcohol is cunning, baffling and powerful. Take your relapse very serious because I've known people that relapsed and sadly, they never made it back.

Don't screw around with your recovery. You either want this thing or you don't. It has to be the most important thing in your life. This app is OK for support but it's not a solution. We have to get outside of our keyboards and converse with people that have serious sobriety time.

Meeting makers make it.

I've also never heard of anyone who relapsed, came back and said that things actually got better. They got worse every time.

I highly recommend from all my years of experience that you get to at least 90 meetings in the 1st 90 days. Take your recovery very serious. It should be the most important decision in your life. What are you willing to do in order to stay sober ?

Why do you think you relapsed?

Because you believed the big lie; That this time, everything will be OK. But it never is, is it?
Alcohol lies to us and lets us down every time.

We have to learn to play the scene forward. You might feel good for a while but sooner or later you will be right back where you are right now, having to start all over and carrying more guilt around like you are right now.

I’m right there with you. We need to stay strong!

Congratulations on starting again!

I'm 9 months and as of today, have not relapsed. That to me does not mean that I am stronger than anyone else, nor will I give a person grief for making a mistake in judgement.

If you need a hand or someone to listen, or want a suggestion let anyone of us know.

A meeting is anywhere where two or more like minds gather.

One day at a time

It's great to have goals, but for now, stick to smaller milestones. Although "one day at a time" is the overarching mantra and a good one, get smaller wins and they will add up to bigger ones. When I started out, I had 30 days on my mind. Then 60, then 90, etc. They'll add up, just hang in there. If you want it, you can do it. We're all in this together.

I understand, God has a plan. Obedience and most importantly Commitment are tough. Hopefully we both have good New Year’s.

Lots of good comments here. Stay in the moment, please. Together, WE CAN.

All you have is today! Make the best of this day and if tomorrow comes well do it again.

Just don’t drink today all we can do

Great to have long term goals but I really recommend taking it 1 day at a time. It so important to get days under your belt. Go to meetings also

You go girl!
