Day 1 and I feel very bad about myself

Day 1 and I feel very bad about myself. This weekend I drank a lot and spend so much money on drinks that I did not remember taking them. Money that I can use to go on trips. I’m pretty new here. Hopefully I can stop drinking.

You can do it! You are here bc you want to. This app has helped me so much. It has not “fixed” me but being active here has been major!

Yesterday is done. Today is a new day. Stay focused on what you can do today to help yourself not to drink today. When your mind starts to go back to yesterday (and it will), remind yourself that you are not going to spend time thinking about stuff you can’t reverse. Also, when your mind starts thinking about tomorrow (and it will), tell yourself that you can’t get worked up and stressed about it. Keep your focus on doing the right things today. Be mindful of your mind drifting to the past and the future. Just for today you can do this

You have come to the right place! It’s day 8 for me and I have found so much motivation and support in this community! I’m learning to live in the moment. We can’t go back and we can’t worry about tomorrow. Tune in to every moment of today. Oh and don’t be so hard on yourself😀

Welcome Alex!
These feelings will pass. Have you thought about going to Alcoholics Anonymous? Do you think you have a problem? I’m here for you, if you have any questions about how to stop drinking or working a spiritual program please feel free to ask. You are not alone. I’ve been right where you are many times before I finally got the help I needed. Have a blessed day my friend

Welcome to Loosid. Not trying to sound abrasive, sometimes I come across that way...you can stop drinking. To prove it, are you drinking right now? Sobriety is a long string of right nows that we jave chosen not to drink. As an old friend said, " today, I am sober. I'll decide later about tomorrow. " that was a daily discussion they had with themselves. Find a meeting to go to. Build a support system. You got this.

Sleeping first few days is tough. But then the sleep becomes amazing. Hang in there - you have to get to tomorrow am without a drink.

Welcome, Alex! We’re here for you! Taking that first step is often quite difficult. I’m proud of you!

Hey Alex, you got this my man!! I would definitely recommend going to either NA or AA meetings in person. Going to in-person meetings is the best decision I ever made. It is really helping me to stay clean and also helps me to make some new friends who truly care about my well being. I think it would be really great for you! If you need someone to talk to man hit me up!

Alex go to as many meetings as you can and get a temporary sponsor! STAT!!

This is no joke! This is your life at stake ! It only gets worse. Tuff Love here from me! I was a chronic relapser ! I should be dead or in a mental institution or in jail! This is serious stuff! Get to a meeting and hook up with a temporary sponsor. One that you won’t like because they might seem to strict! But that’s what we need coming into this program.

How are you doing, Alex? The support and insights here make so much sense, I echo the encouragement. You showed up, are honest. Yes. We know those feelings you brought up. Hope you are finding compassion for your own self. You are brave for wanting to change. Take it moment by moment, ( sometimes an entire day feels overwhelming to, for me / many ). The awful feelings will come. Hope the support here keeps you going because you, everyone here-we deserve the better life which sobriety offers.
