Starting over again. I’m just happy and grateful I didn’t have to hit rock bottom again this time. Being able to see the spiral before it happens was a plus this time. Any words of advice or encouragement?
Even when starting again, you’re starting with more knowledge than when you did before. I hope you are proud of yourself for recognizing where you were at and that you didn’t want to be there anymore. And since you’ve done it before, trust yourself that you can do it again. You have a community to lean on for support! We’re happy you’re here
Stay busy Brother. You know the drill. I had to bottom out to try it THIS time. I have to want it every day more than anything ever. I figure a practice run helped me. I got faith in you:sunglasses:
Glad you didn't go any further my man. Just remember that, in addition to the fact that that poison can take you too far, to provided you with no benefit this last time, or any other time.
Always know there are people to turn to if you just need someone to talk you down from whatever you’re going through that would cause you to use again. The best people I have found that are the easiest to talk to are complete strangers who have beat their addiction or are in active recovery!!!
People like us are the most understanding!! In my opinion!
Thanks, my man.
Right on, brother. You’ve got this too
Thank you. You’re awesome. Really appreciate your words.
You’re 100% right. Thank you. I’m always here to lend an ear too!
You know the drill, Michael
Get your @$$ back in the rooms. Get busy with whatever level of service is available to you. Plop down in the middle of your recovery community and let them love you. Do the work. Walk the talk.
Love you.
Welcome (back) Home
Self-compassion seems to be underrated and underutilized in this world.
Humans, man.
The first to beat our own selves up ( many of us )…yet so seldom pause to give ourselves some grace and acknowledge how amazing we are-for wanting to change.
Wishing you well-and your self-awareness is fantastic…keep going,
Michael!
Keep forgiving yourself. Stay positive. Surround yourself with sober-minded people. Remember there's no good reason to drink/use. Celebrate those milestones.
That is beautiful Michael. Thank you so so much for sharing.
Just remember we’re all guaranteed another relapse.
But we’re not all guaranteed another recovery. another relapse could result in taking our lives.
I’m so glad you are here. Have a blessed day.
