Your sleep is normal now? I have such a hard time falling asleep and then even when I do, I can’t stay asleep. I toss and turn all night.

Today it is normal my first few weeks of recovery I couldn’t sleep at all

In the beginning what worked for Me was , I would completely unplug. Take a short walk clear the day out of my head, and journal the difficulties of the day, I made 100000's list of things, I had so many notes it looked like I had sticky note wall paper!!!! Close your eyes forgive yourself first and try not to overwork overwhelming your poor braincells

You’re totally right. I’ll take crappy sleep over a crappy life any day.

Right gotta keep the positive energy on it and maybe the sleep thing will fix it's self someday or I'll collapse due to exhaustion but i cross that bridge when we I get thre lol

Haha! Right??

That sounds exhausting, especially this early on. What's worked for me: read a book in bed instead of screens, since TV and phones give your brain stimuli that keep it wired. Then force yourself up early and get bright light right away. It basically rewires your circadian clock, but it takes consistency.

Very! I will try that. I actually just got a new book yesterday. Thanks for the tips!

As you are awake reflect not in what was.Rather ponder on what your plans are for being sober .Please remember if you don’t have a plan. The “ SPIRIT “within alcohol will plan for you.Be at peace take it one day at a time.

Lately I’ve been trying to watch my caffeine intake before bed. Sweet tea at the end of the day is my vice, bigtime. But lately, I’ve been sneaking the kids’ Capri Sun instead lol

I’ve still been thinking about this—I’m not sure if it’ll help or not, but I also really made my bedroom into a safe space where I could truly relax. I really focused on utilizing all five of my senses—scents, low lighting, noisemaker, etc. Utilized a lot of items I’ve seen in counseling offices before. Seems to also be helping. Have a little fun with it!

Try going on YouTube and type in sounds for sleeping. It helps me to calm my brain and fall asleep

Congrats on the day count! I try to exhaust myself during the day. I can sleep ok from about 9 til midnight then toss and turn. Mostly due to stress and anxiety. Limit those and caffeine and it will help. Good luck!
