Craving can and are horrible!
Naltrexone can help, but it also only works if your mind is seriously wanting, not just needing to do quit!!
Took me 4ever to finally stop and stay clean… it was a gift from God!! Pray… then pray harder to b free :four_leaf_clover::smiley:

you’ve got this girl!! all of these sensations are temporary.

I still experience cravings with my doc, but DBT and mindfulness skills have been life savers. if you have good insurance, naltrexone is a great medication to help w alcohol cravings ^^ (though I think it helps for other DOCs too!)

Hi Grace,
What’s DBT and mindfulness.. I guess I could google…

I would definitely recommend googling it! there should be loads of resources to find things, I recommend the site therapist aid, it has lots of free worksheets and explanation on them.

DBT stands for Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which is a really constructive therapy modality for us in recovery because it offers straightforward techniques on strategies of processing emotions that come up when we’re experiencing a craving for example. Mindfulness refers to the tactics of being aware of what our mind and body are experiencing. There’s infinite helpful resources relating to mindfulness as well.

Thanks Grace,
I’ll check it out !
