Day 2-No alcohol

I got about 2 hours of sleep but, it’s probably the best 2 hours I’ve had in along time. I spent a lot of time thinking about my “relationships” with people and how that will change. I also thought a lot about how I don’t really care about it because the way people treat me is a direct reflection of how they feel about themselves and has nothing to do with me at all. I’m only accountable for myself and, that’s ok.
The weekends have always been a slippery slope. As if I’ve earned the right to drink because I worked hard all week. What I’ve earned is the right to be happy, to be at peace and to feel good about myself and my accomplishments.
I’m looking forward to today.
Day 2 looks good on me.
Happy Friday to you all. May you find peace, love and strength. You’ve earned that.

I struggle with sleep as well. I primarily drank to pass out and then could not go to sleep after achieving sobriety. Some over the counter things that have helped are melatonin, valerian root, and CBD gummies....sleepy time tea, which is chamomile I think.
Prescription wise, I am on Seraquel and hydroxyzine (Vistaril) and they work like a charm. Side note: Ambien and Lunesta never really did anything for me but those are for sleep as well. Studies are showing sleep is more and more vital to health. I hope this helps. Good luck and sweet dreams...
