Day 20: Ice Cream Boogaloo

Today was challenging. I used to drink at home, rarely at bars. It was painfully boring.

I’ve been home the last two days. I don’t feel like going anywhere because I had an exhausting day out Saturday. My place is clean. I don’t have extra money to spend. The initial high of getting sober is fading. My lizard brain wanted to drink.

I powered through it. I went to 2 yoga classes in the morning and 1 at night. I also ate a half a tub of ice cream. Not my easiest day sober, but I made it work.

Go to AA. Everyone insists on doing this the hard way first. Myself included. But you have the option to skip all that and be truly free by going to AA and working your steps.

Thanks, but I’ve been to AA before and I don’t think it’s for me.

Ate a lot of my ice cream in my first year. I don’t as much now but I have ice cream in the freezer at all times. ODAAT

Good job  success. Yoga is awesome. Need to get back into it.

That was me!

Thanks for reminding me of early sobriety. Early days, I picked lots of commitments at AA meetings & tons of various service work, to fill up my everyday of the week. Mornings & nights. Ya it was a bit much but it worked for 5 years, until I burned out on AA. I made a new life w new friends💗. Now at 14+ years, I have a panel and always a sponsee or 2.
Hang in there, it definitely gets easier and much better.
