day 3 and my brain still feels like scrambled eggs. can’t work to save my life and really struggling to be socially motivated. i’m hosting a birthday party for my roommate tonight and i will not drink or use. i’ve been eating anything and everything i can get my hands on hoping my brain will start making happy chemicals again. one day at a time.
It will take time your brain is rebooting so to speak but the fog will clear and you will get your groove back. Just give it time.
Maggie, how did the party go? That is right, eat anything and everything-as long as ya do not pick up, use. That first week especially…right, it will take some time. One day at a time and I often take it one moment at a time. Sometimes thinking ahead to the next hour overwhelms me.
I hope everything went well! OMGosh I just posted tonight about eating! I have been craving all types of foods & not exactly feeling satisfied which is not typical for me. I started noticing it the last few days and today I’m like WTH is going on with these food cravings & eating! Apparently it is normal.. You’re probably right, our bodies/brain looking for that “feel good.” I’m allowing it for now but I pray it balances out and I don’t have to start focusing on an eating issue
One day at a time, liiittterally!
it went well. was offered a couple times by friends who brought beer to the party but successfully stayed sober and fell asleep before everyone left. my roommate cleaned up and showed the stragglers out. can’t say it was easy exactly but it’s done.
I’m proud of you for getting to day 3. Day 3 was always the worst for me. Stay strong girl
How's it going now that you're a month in?
Be patient with yourself, your body and brain need time to recalibrate and adjust. You can do it!
Me too, day 3 was my relapse day whenever I tried quitting on my own.
Just keep eating healthy foods, drinking lots of water, and sleep as much as you can! You got this.
