It may be Day 3 sober, but it's been so much more than that. For the past few weeks, the times I did drink, it wasn't excessive or for "escaping". I'm not justifying the action of drinking but I am happy to say that I haven't been drowning myself in it. It has been getting easier to cut way back. Now I just gotta get through the weekend without drinking vs trying not to drink every day of the week. I've been showing up to work every day with zero hangovers whereas before I was barely showing up and my job was on the line. It's also Day 2 Tobacco free for me. It may be baby steps but every little step counts towards the right direction I feel. Well, this is me today. No hangovers, no mess that I'm having to clean up, being at work on time every day, and appreciating the little things.
Good job!!! Congrats on your soberiety time you got. Seems like you’re getting your life back in order. Congratulations!
Thanks Brian
Congrats Alba… and baby steps is correct so if 2 poisons are too much at the same time to quit than I suggest you keep smoking cigs ( I know it’s bad too). That’s how I did it because both were too much at the same time. You got this
You can do it.
I was smoking so heavily, especially during the first cutbacks on alcohol. Now that I dont drink like I used to and my body has been adjusting well, I dont feel the need to chainsmoke anymore. Im hoping to quit completely, but yes, one baby step at a time.
Thank you Tobias
My job was on the line because of alcohol also. There were days in a row that I would miss. That is all behind us now. Keep pushing forward. You got this!
3 days is huge. You’re showing up without the hangovers, and that’s a huge accomplishment. Proud of you.
I'd miss out on so much. Always too sick or hungover to do anything. Not anymore
Thank you Crissy for your support!
Yes!!! We got this!!
I've been there!!! I feel your pain!! Sometimes its easier to focus on one thing at a time. For instance for what I did the same thing by quitting everything at same time. So I changed it. My SPONSOR helped me to understand that it was better to stop the the alcohol first and I did. 10yrs sober from it. You are courageous and I compliment on that
Good job. DO YOU HAVE A SPONSOR?
Thank you Johnny! I do not have a sponsor, never had one.
Do you have a home group?? I was taught to find a meeting place .. feel comfortable at. Ask the facilitator you can join there home group.. Then find a female sponsor someone with alot of sobriety ... if I can help let me know.. Keep your chin up stay strong one day at a time!!
God bless..
Hang in there no matter what. I hope you don’t make relapse an option. It’s a sneaky foe. Congratulations, be proud of yourself for being willing and sober today.
Great job!!!
tobacco is seriously hard
One day at a time for me, it was the third step
Good for you taking the right steps to sober living. Keep up the good work
